Nanci was born and raised in Atlanta. She moved to the mountains of Western North Carolina several years ago and has lived in High Point, NC since October 2015. As a young child Nanci watched and admired the shell jewelry her mother made dreaming she would do the same when she grew up. However, Nanci's jewelry has taken a different turn. Her collection includes an eclectic mix of jewelry styles. “My designs stem from natural elements and are one-of-a-kind.” The natural gemstone I use in each piece is chosen specifically for its unusual characteristics, color, size & design. More often the design includes Jasper, Brazilian Agate, Mexican Lace Agate, Amethyst, Malachite as well as other natural stones. I also use many types of metals, beads, pearls and other design elements to augment and enhance the beauty of the natural gemstone, so that each piece represents a unique creation” Nanci says. Last year Nanci started making hand-hammered copper pieces that are painted with a metal patina for a bold art deco look The jewelry designs that Nanci offers through Sylvia and Vivian’s are one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted, original designs.
