Description of Event:
Oinktoberfest is an annual BBQ Festival and Competition held at the Great Pumpkin Farm in Clarence, NY. Saturday's competition is Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) sanctioned. Team entries are judged and scored according to KCBS guidelines and rules. Food categories include: chicken, pork ribs, pork butt/shoulder, beef brisket. The scores of these four categories determines the Grand Champion. Optional categories will include chicken wings and anything Buffalo but wings in keeping with our theme this year. Sunday's events include both the Outdoor Cooking Contest and the Wing-Off. The Outdoor Cooking Contest allows it all, as long as it is done outdoors: grilling, smoking, frying, baking, steaming, braising, using whatever fuel source you want. Categories are chicken, any pork except ribs, beef, chowder and anything Buffalo but wings. The Wing-Off is a stand alone contest with the bonus category of anything Buffalo but wings. Teams may independently enter either or both contests. There is a discount when entering both Sunday events.Information:
