Description of Event:
This 32 year old show, featuring approximately 60 juried artists and crafters from the Northern Virginia Handcrafters Guild (NVHG), will be held at the Vienna Community Center Thanksgiving weekend. The show offers original, handmade arts and crafts, including decorative painting; fused, etched, painted and stained glass; ceramics and pottery; hand-painted silk; woodworking; handweaving; photography; paintings and drawings; clothing and functional textiles; jewelry; and other crafts. All of the artists and crafters will be present to answer questions and discuss their work. This year, food will be available to purchase for lunch.
The Northern Virginia Handcrafters Guild is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to promoting the development of arts and crafts in the community, supporting arts and crafts educational activities, and helping artists and craftspeople exhibit and sell their work. Community service activities include supporting Second Story (a Northern Virginia home for teens in crisis) and donating to Meals on Wheels. Each year, the Guild gives out scholarships to high school students pursuing an arts degree – the proceeds from the Vienna show entry fee are used to fund these scholarships.
