Gretna Maifest Celebration will be held Saturday May 13, 2017 on the neutral grounds along Huey P Long Avenue. Stroll down the avenue to the German-American Cultural Center to celebrate in German Style. Food, Brats, Music and Lots of German Beer. Tour the museum, visit with members dressed in German style costumes. Feast, dance to the music and lift a stein. Stroll drown to the next block of Huey P Long Avenue to shop the Gretna Farmer's Market. Local farmers selling seasonal produce, vegetables, fruits, honey, cheese, eggs and more. Delicious prepared food items plus hog head cheese, artisan fresh baked breads, sauces, spices, boudin, pickles, candy, sweet treats and more. Kids activity table, book nook, knife sharpening. Under the pavilion shop the artist of the Gretna Art Walk. Local and talented artist selling and displaying their products. Painting, Prints, Jewelry, and Handmade items.
