Description of Event:
The Georgia Sweet Potato Festival will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 in Ocilla is home to the Sweet Potato Festival. The festival began in 1960 as an act to promote and recognize sweet potato growers. There will be a sweet potato cooking contest, grand parade, sweet tator trot, cooking contest, arts and crafts show, and concession stands for adults and kids. These are only some of the activities that the Sweet Potato Festival has to offer. Children here have the opportunity to display artwork of their own for their families and for the community at the arts and crafts show. The Sweet Potato Cooking Contest will have contestants in the categories of pies, cakes, candied sweet potatoes, souffles, and novelties such as candy, bread, and ice cream.Information:
