The Maters will be Frying September 10, 2016 at the 5th Annual Niota Fried Green Tomato Festival in historical downtown Niota, TN. Free Festival Admission. Pet Friendly, Handicap Accessible, No Alcohol. Festival features lots of Fried Green Tomatoes, food, arts, crafts, direct sales vendors so come prepared to do your early Christmas shopping! Special events and rides for children and adults, Little Pete’s Rail Road, Monster Spider Jumper, Water Attractions, Bounce Houses, Petting Zoo, Pony Rides and much more! Hunt for Green Tomato, Costume Characters, Beauty Pageant, Car Show, Green Tomato Cook-Off, Kid’s Parade, Pet Stomp Parade, Tractor Show sponsored by East TN. Mahindra LLC Madisonville, TN., Owner Mike Jones. Hot Air Balloon, Music and more! Free tours of the Harry T. Burn (who’s vote gave us women the right to vote) Mansion and grounds. Festival proceeds benefit the reconstruction & up-keep of Tennessee’s oldest, standing depot built in 1853 which is located at the heart of the festival in Niota, TN. Take I-75 to Niota Exit #56, take connector road east to US Hwy. 11, turn right heading south, left at the red light. Niota is located between Knoxville & Chattanooga, TN. (SE TN.). “It’s A Little Bit Greek.” A portion of the pancake sales is so graciously being donated to our beloved depot. Festival begins at 9 AM till 4 PM.
