Description of Event:
recognized as the largest one day music and arts festival in Western North Carolina the festival has grown and expanded on to one main thoroughfare, Montford Avenue.
Stretching from Chestnut Street, just past the Asheville Visitor’s Center, to Waneta Street, the tree lined Montford Avenue festival features two stages with over 20 acts performing continuously throughout the day. Each act showcases musicians, all with a tie to the historic Montford neighborhood.
The festival resembles a giant neighborhood block party with residents as volunteer greeters and over 100 artists and craft’s persons displaying their “gallery quality” creations.
It is family friendly with special booths for the kids as well as youth entertainers and the famous Chinese Dragon Dancers that snake through the festival and our regulars the Morris Country Dancers. There is even a Maypole dance.
