Since 1978, The Mississippi Watermelon Festival in Mize, MS has been hosted and sponsored every year in July by the Town of Mize Volunteer Fire Department. This year will mark the 36th anniversary of the festival. The 36th Annual Mississippi Watermelon Festival in Mize, Mississippi, is all set for the weekend of July 18th and 19th. There will be arts and crafts, food and other merchandise, The Mississippi Watermelon Festival 5K run, AND a great Car and Truck Show hosted by the Smith County Cruisers. On Friday evening, there will be a talent competition, to find out more or if interested in participating CLICK HERE Be sure to join in the fun in the watermelon eating contest and the seed spitting contest and don't miss the Biggest Watermelon contest, you'll see some real whoppers!!! It's a time to eat all the watermelon you can handle, compete in watermelon games, contests, great music and enjoy the warm days of summer.
