Description of Event:

SHAKOPEE, MN—The Junk Bonanza returns to Canterbury Park April 16-18 for its 10th year, reuniting shoppers and purveyors of vintage finds, beautiful antiques and artisan-repurposed goods.
More than 160 juried vendors showcase artful vignettes of castoff and repurposed treasures, each 40 years or older or made from components of that age. A few hand-picked artisinal makers of foodstuffs and crafts are included as well.
Among special events at this show:
A guest appearance and book signing by Fifi O’Neill, whose latest book, “Prairie-Style Weddings,” was released in December. O’Neill is also the editor of Prairie Style magazine and author of “Romantic Prairie Style” and the “Romantic Prairie Cookbook.” She will sign all day Thursday.
Free, hands-on workshops on specialty finishes using Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan. The sessions, taught by Amanda Ficek of Mama’s Happy, are set for 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. Thursday, and 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Sessions are free; attendees must register at the Annie Sloan booth the morning or afternoon the session is being held.
Vintage Spring tabletop and decor inspiration! Attend free “show and tell” sessions that take a tabletop from bare to beautiful, incorporating vintage elements, and offer tips for other aspects of decor and party favors for Spring weddings and celebrations. 1 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday.
How-to sessions on creating beautiful garden and houseplant display. KSTP home and garden expert Larry Pfarr will demonstrate how to create beautiful garden and houseplant display using vintage and antique containers and other found objects. Sessions are 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Thursday and 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday.
Multiple “Lucky Friday” giveaways each hour, all day Friday. Among them: $25 coupons from several generous donating vendors to be redeemed for merchandise during the Bonanza.
General admission: $10. A $25 Early Bird ticket, good for two hours of prime shopping before the general admission opening on Thursday, is also good for readmission Friday and Saturday.Order online at http://www.kinassauer.com/collections/junk-bonanza; that ticket is $30 at the door.
