Description of Event:
For four fun-filled days, Greenville becomes "Greekville" as the magic of Greece comes to town. This "Glendi" or party will begin on Thursday, May 15th with authentic Greek food served in the Church's Hellenic Center during lunch and dinner. Take-out orders for food and pastries will also be available throughout the weekend. Drive-thru lanes on Elford Street will also be available for take-out meals Thursday and Friday; and FAX orders will be accepted for lunch both Thursday and Friday. Outside food booths will offer Greek favorites -- gyros, souvlaki, triopites, Greek fries, Greek sausage, saganaki, Greek burgers, calamari and much more. The amphitheater will offer live Greek music and traditional folk dancing throughout the weekend. Dancers dressed in traditional costumes of the various regions and islands of Greece will perform authentic dances. Mouth-watering native Greek food will be abundant. The Greek Coffee Shoppe (Kafenion) outside will offer exotic Greek coffee and indescribable ""loukoumades."" And there will also be Greek wine, American coffee.Information:
