Description of Event:
Make plans now to attend the Derby BBQ Festival, a fun fall event for the whole family, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015. For just $5, sample competition-quality pulled pork in the People's Choice Contest. A variety of barbecue and other fair food vendors will be on site to satisfy all your cravings. It'll also feature KCBS BBQ Cook-off, Tendercare Green Egg Backyard BBQ Cook-off, Fidelity Bank Anything Bacon Contest or Chick-fil-A Kids Chocolate Chip Cookie Contest. In addition to great food, participants can have some fun at the State Farm Photo Booth, the Bumper to Bumper Rods-n-Ribs Charity Car Show, or just take a break in the Derby Lions Beverage and Beer Den or in the Security 1st Title Hospitality Tent and listen to flavorful music while enjoying some barbecue and a maybe a brew or two. The Cox Kids Corner offers a variety of free activities for children of all ages including pig races, inflatables, magic shows, a caricature artist, face painters, balloon artists, fishing demos and much more. The Derby BBQ Festival benefits the Airman and Family Readiness Center at McConnell Air Force Base.Information:
