Description of Event:
Known for year round recreation and heritage tourism, Del Norte brings you Covered Wagon Days, an annual celebration of the people who built The West. The event kicks off with a good old-fashioned “Meet Your Neighbor” night and potluck dinner at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Thursday. Highlights in the following days include a pig roast benefiting San Luis Valley veterans; music by the “Flying W Wranglers," Fred Hargrove and Odin Dean; and “It’s The Bee’s Knees” 5K walk/run. The Covered Wagon Days parade rolls into town at 10 a.m. Saturday followed by the Del Norte Volunteer Fireman’s BBQ lunch. Then don't miss the ice cream social, car show, draft horse and wagon expo, and hayride historical tours.Information:
