Description of Event:
Bring your children for a fun filled day in beautiful southern Indiana. Nestled on the Ohio River, Cannelton is a historic small town born during the times of the booming river trade business. Once a year the city pays tribute to its rich history by hosting the Cannelton Heritage Festival in celebration of history, art, crafts, food and music. Artisans and craftsmen will be set up in front of historic late 1800's storefronts on the town's Main Street. Demonstrations by experienced tradesmen will feature skills and talents practiced by the early settlers of Cannelton. Children will love the hands-on arts and crafts projects at the free Art Workshop Stations under the children's tent. The kid's carnival is a popular stop, or perhaps take a free ride on a horse-driven wagon through town. Pick out your pumpkin and dress it up with paint, feathers and anything else your child can imagine. This family fun day is sure to please mom and dad too. Live music throughout the day ranging from oldies to contemporary. Local wineries will be on hand for tastings and a variety of foods ranging from chicken dinners (a local favorite) to hand-dipped ice cream and pie. Hours: 10am-3pmInformation:
