Description of Event:
For the past nine years Hygienic Art has collaborated with New London SailFest to incorporate an additional artistic element into New London’s largest weekend festival. Bizarre Bazaar will occupy the areas of Bank Street running between Golden and Pearl during July 12 & 13 to create an atmosphere of art and culture by recruiting artists, DIY crafters, and unconventional vendors. Similar to the mission behind Hygienic Art’s first show 35 years ago, “to bring art to the common man”, Hygienic’s participation in SailFest continues to spotlight and share creative ideas and art with the community. 2014 brings a new and revived Bizarre Bazaar festival that will incorporate all genres of artists and exhibitors. The festival will engage puppeteers, street musicians, psychedelic art, large-scale installations, and creative vendors ranging from Connecticut pride, organic health supplies to recycled clothing. An atmosphere of the neoclassical carnival will be created right in downtown New London alongside the other fun activities SailFest has to offer.
