2:00pm – “Art Deco Mailboxes”
Join Karen Greene, author of the book by the same title, as she shares the fascinating design of mailboxes in building lobbies. As American Art Deco architecture flourished in the 1920s and 1930s, these mailboxes became the focal point in landmark buildings and public space. Three of the mailboxes featured in the book, including one of the oldest, are in Boston buildings. A book signing will follow. Co-Sponsored by the Art Deco Society of Boston.

3:00pm – “Made in the Future” - Boston Design Week Closing Program.
We may not all have flying cars or intelligent ape chauffeurs today, but so much of what we take for granted – the Internet, touch screens, the cubicle was once a shiny figment of the future. Matt Weiss of IDEO shares how new tools have triggered seismic shifts in how we design, manufacture, and distribute.  Co-Sponsored by Design Museum Boston.

The Cyclorama at the Boston Center for the Arts, 539 Tremont Street in Boston’s South End, is the ideal venue for the show.  This 14,500 square foot circular building with its enormous skylight was built in 1884 to house an enormous panorama painting (a “cyclorama”) of the Battle of Gettysburg.  For more details, hotel information and driving directions visit www.AD2021.com or call 617-363-0405.

The Cyclorama is also the location for Fusco & Four’s other shows including the 19th Annual Boston International Fine Art Show that will take place October 22-25, 2015.  For more information on all of Fusco & Four’s art and design events, visit www.BostonArtFairs.com.
