Description of Event:
The Old-Time Music, Ozark Heritage Festival is the signature event for West Plains. The two-day festival seeks to celebrate, preserve, pass on and nurture an appreciation of the old-time music and folk life traditions distinctive to the Ozark Highlands. Musicians, artisans, and storytellers from throughout the state come to the West Plains festival in enthusiastic support of creating a place to listen, watch, interact and honor the old time traditions of the southern Ozarks communities. Performances each day, plus Jig Dance Competition, Fiddlers' Frolic, Annual Mule Jump Competition, traditional square and jig dance workshops, Traditional cooking stage, blacksmiths, soap makers, spinners and weavers, quilters, instrument makers, candle makers, traditional baskets, and more. Hours: Friday, 11 am - 10 pm; Saturday, 9 am - 10 pmInformation:
