Description of Event:
The Flathead Celtic Festival will be happening on September 17th, 2016 at Herron Park. The Flathead Celtic Festival is an event in which those with an appreciation of Celtic (those from the seven Celtic Nations; Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, Isle of Man, Galicia and Brittany) heritage and may come together and celebrate or learn about the heritage of others. It will include aScottish heavy games competition which consists of the caber toss, sheaf toss, hammer throw,Braemar stone throw, and more. Other events at the Flathead Celtic Festival will include bag piping and a massed band at thenoontime ceremonies on Saturday, a music stage with both local and regional performers, danceexhibitions, workshops, clan tents for genealogical exploration, tents that delve into the CelticHistory of the Flathead Valley brought to us by the Central School Museum and the Montana GaelicCultural Society, other entertainment, as well as retail, food, and commercial vendor booths.
