Description of Event:

Amherst, NH – Saturday and Sunday, May 6 and 7 marks the 23rd “Power of Angels, Kitty Angels Fundraiser” at Treasures Antiques, Collectables & MORE. This event will run both days from 9AM to 5PM rain or shine.   
  Kitty Angels, Inc., a no-kill cat shelter, has been the recipient of these awesome events at Treasures by not only gaining much needed funds, but getting quite a number of the countless felines in their care adopted. Kitty Angels, Inc., itself, is made up of all unpaid volunteers and is dedicated to rescuing stray and abandoned cats and kittens, furnishing them with treatment for injuries or other health issues before placing them into their new forever homes with compatible owners. They are a non-profit, charitable corporation where all donations are fully tax-deductible and every penny of every donation is used in the caring of cats.   This year’s event will feature over 100 vendors in an entertaining, crafts, flea market, yard sale and county-fair type atmosphere complete with live entertainment. Members of the Amherst Animal Hospital will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about cats or any other animal. ‘The New England Brethren of Pirates,’ a reenactment and improve troupe, will be back, entertaining guests as characters from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, selling hand-made wares and playing fun, pirate themed games with children. Mapledell Farm of Townsend, MA, a traveling petting zoo and goat rental farm will bring alpacas, donkeys, goats and bunnies for petting, feeding and to greet the young and old. “The Kuke’s” will entertain with fun, ukulele music on Saturday from 11AM-12:30PM, Derek Fimbel will play from 1PM-3PM and “Back to the Garden” will play on Sunday from 11AM to about 1:30PM.   Another attraction this year, will be lectures and demonstrations by certified herbalist and environmental educator Rivka Schwartz. Rivka is a member of the American Herbalist Guild and a graduate of the Mayo Clinic Wellness Coaching Program. She will give demos on wild foraging and spring edibles, making lip balms, Winter Time Syrup or Tincture (a.k.a. extracts) and Herbal Chocolates. There will also be an introduction to yoga practice by Jane Wilkins LPN,BSHS, MeD, RxYT, centering on therapeutic seated yoga with a focus on breathe and body awareness. Other vendors will include; Sillie Puffs, Royal Towne Fudge, Sweet Cheeks Creations (homemade granola, chocolates, nut mixes), Amherst Wellness Center, Grassy Brook Maple, Twilight Farm and Fiber, Dippy Chippy & More, Lu La Roe, Here’s Your Sign (Custom Made Signs), Three Daughters Jewelry and Gifts, Vinyl Revival Record Albums), Pet Pawlicy, Anthony Acres Kitty Cat Farm, Willy’s Whirlies, Damsel in Defense and Pampered Chef with a growing list of others.
  Products to be offered consist of but not limited to jewelry, pet supplies, honey, jams, syrups, candles, soaps, florals, sports memorabilia and sporting goods, clothing, minerals, fossils, crystals, essential oils, handmade felt and wool products and much, much more. Along with the various “yard sale” items that can be found, you’ll be guaranteed to uncover a bargain for yourself, your pet, your home, or your garden sanctuary. Cindia Jackson’s Fine Air-Roasted Coffee and Dunkin Donuts will be featured at the refreshment tent.
  An electrifying raffle of numerous and diverse prizes, will be featured throughout the fundraising weekend and into the month of June. The raffle has always been successful in raising added funds for this event. All prizes are generously donated by local and national businesses including some of the on-site vendors.
  This annual fundraising event for “Kitty Angels, Inc.” is the “pet” charity of Treasures’ owners, Rick & Sherry Tobin. To date, their fundraising efforts have far exceeded $70,000. 
  If you’d like to make a donation, but can’t come to the event that weekend, you may send a check or money order to Kitty Angels Inc., P. O. Box 638, Tyngsboro, MA 01879. Please put Treasures in the memo line. As always, you can drop off a check at Treasures and they will forward it for you. If you can’t make a monetary donation at this time, but would like to help, material donations will be happily accepted such as cat food (both dry and canned), kitty litter (non-scoopable preferred, but any litter is good litter), medical supplies, bedding (clean towels, blankets, quilts, clean denim and corduroy, quilted bedspreads), carriers, cleaning supplies including bleach, laundry detergent and paper towels, photocopy paper, postage stamps, cat toys and cat furniture as well as trash bags. You don’t have to wait for this event to drop off any donations for ‘Kitty Angels.’ You can do that by making an appointment when the store is open, which is 10AM to 5PM daily.
