Description of Event:

The Phelps Woman’s Club Scarecrow Fest has become a tradition of the Northwoods.  There is no charge for entry or parking.  All kids games are free and the food, music, craft fair and scarecrows are set on the shore of North Twin Lake.  Food includes pig roast, nachos, gyros, cheese curds, onion rings, hamburgers, brats, Italian beef, chicken wraps and to top it off, free chili from the Woman’s club.  And satisfy your sweet tooth with taffy apples, pumpkin bars, monster cookies, ice cream and root beer floats.  You can sample the homemade wines and vote for your favorite.  Also lemonade or beer are available to quench your thirst. Don’t miss the chance to try pumpkin chuckin’!  Test your skill slinging a pumpkin at the target on North Twin Lake.  Check out the scarecrows, or bring your own to enter for a cash prize.  Line dancing in the street are new this year!  Also, test your skills at giant jenga.The craft show, quilt show and Headwaters Art League display are part of the many things to do and see.  The Phelps Women’s Club will have a craft raffle as well.  This a great kids event with free kids games, kids scarecrow parade, a cake walk, face painting and the balloon man. A free shuttle bus takes you to/from the parking areas to downtown.  Handicap parking is available behind the Phelps Museum on Hwy E.  All proceeds go to support the Phelps Library, local scholarships, and other community projects.
