Join Chef Alfie Szeprethy for an educational afternoon discovering the flavors of Peru and the history of South America through food and drink during the San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival. A presentation and tasting of three distinct ceviches will guide diners through the history of South America and ingredients. Starting with a ceviche prepared in the pre-Incan style (300-1200 BC), followed by a style that notes the arrival of Spanish conquistadores who brought limes, garlic and onions to South America, and finishing with a Nikkei ceviche that celebrates Japanese influence on the country of Peru, each delectable course will be paired with a South American wine. You will also enjoy other Peruvian small plates with delicious Pisco cocktails and Peruvian wine.
