Description of Event:

The Nebraska Builders Home and Garden Show will take place February 7-10 at the Lancaster Event Center (84th and Havelock Avenue). Hours are Thursday and Friday 5-9 pm, Saturday 10 am to 8 pm and Sunday 10 am to 5 pm. Admission is $6.00 for adults ($5.00 with a non-perishable food item for the Lincoln Food Bank) and 12 and under are free. Three rooms of the Lancaster Event Center will have great ideas for landscaping, decorating, remodeling or building a new home. The Show features the latest products for updating older homes, both for the doit-yourselfer and for people who want to hire a professional. Whether wanting to meet and talk to builders or see new products, the Home & Garden Show is an outstanding opportunity to get ideas. A list of exhibitors is available on HBAL's web site at www.hbal.org. The Shriners Clowns will be on hand to entertain kids of all ages and Jeloo the Clown will be there with her balloons. A 4th & 5th Grade Art Contest "If I Could Build a House" will be featured with nine elementary schools participating. Six schools will receive $500 each and individual winners will receive a $50 savings bond from HBAL. There will also be a Senior High School Interior & Residential Design Contest. Cash prizes are $100 for first place, $75 for 2nd place and $50 for third place in both categories.
