At the foothills of the Ozarks, you can find a wonderful place to relax, enjoy a great part of history and commune with nature as well. Washington County holds the history of the state of Missouri, the great expansion of the United States by way of the Louisiana Purchase and the birth of Texas. Find the connection to the past that you might never have known existed. Potosi, the county seat, is the hub of history as the frontier developed in America’s early history. Potosi celebrated its 250th Anniversary in 2013, along with Washington County’s 200th Anniversary. The entire area is steeped in stories of the past, architecture and family legacies that transcend more than generations. Experience the past, today in Washington County and Potosi.
