Description of Event:
This great festival is held the second full weekend in June annually. This year is the 27th Annual Louisiana Corn Festival and will be held June 14, 15, and 16, 2013. The festival was started by the Chamber of Commerce to promote our city and the impact that agriculture has on it and the people in the area. The name Louisiana Corn Festival was given to honor the corn farmers of our area. For these reasons, a Corn Farmer of the Year is honored at each festival. Begun in 1987, the Corn Festival is a time for family gathering and fun for all ages. Because of its loving attention to guests and friends, this festival was named one of the best in Louisiana. It is one of the few free festivals in the state. It's warmth, friendship, and happy spirit that makes the Louisiana Corn Festival a must-do for people throughout the state. All proceeds of the festival are put back into the festival, its grounds, and projects throughout the city. Hours: Friday at 5:00 pm - midnight, Saturday from 10 am to midnight and Sunday 11 am to 4 pm.Information:
