Description of Event:
Summer Solstice Celebration will be held June 23-25, 2017. The theme for 2017 is "Celebrating Unity". The festival kicks off on Friday afternoon showcasing local talents with music, dance, performances. Some of the parade ensembles are featured as well as all of the food booths, arts and crafts vendors. The Summer Solstice Parade on Saturday features more than 1,000 parade participants, complete with extravagant floats, whimsical costumes and creatively choreographed dancing ensembles. On Saturday/Sunday, the festival continues the celebration with live music by local and international artists; delicious foods and beverages from local restaurants, caterers and non-profit groups; an arts and crafts boutique with more than 75 artisans and craftsmen; a large "drum circle" formed by parade participants and anyone who cares to join in the beat. A special children's area features a stage with storytellers, musicians, drama, and mimes. Hours: Fri 4-9, Sat 12-8, Sun 12-6Information:
