I am new to direct selling and Im having difficulty booking shows, fairs, and events. Every time I locate one (which is hard to do!) and reach out to the contact they already have a Scentsy consultant booked or do not respond to me. I am desperate to book a show and I am hoping that starting a connection with Fairs and Festivals will help me book some shows! I dont know where else to look.

I am a jewelry vendor in New England. I make unusual jewelry—original art glass jewelry—but it still lands me in the jewelry category which is a very popular one. As I am working on my summer shows (this is my 3rd year doing shows and I am working on branching out from my local community), I am finding that many shows already have the jewelry category full! Amazing! And the shows have just been posted at FairsandFestivals.

How does everyone deal with this? Has anyone experienced this? How early do you apply? December? January? Is it just the jewelry category? I would love to hear some tips for dealing with this. Thanks!

Does anyone have a tactful answer to this question? When a customer is shopping and they have chosen an item then they ask if you
have anymore under the table and they want you to pull out your inventory so they can look at it. Its happen to me before and I’ve seen
it happen to others. They seem to always buy their first choice so its almost a waste of time. You hate to say no, but you look
so disorganized going through boxes and stuff and everyone else starts asking you to do it because they saw you do it for another customer. Any ideas on a nice way to avoid that?

The North Carolina Azalea Festival the Promoter is Dawn Clawges. We wasted our money by sending our application for a food vendor by UPS to the address she requested, since she has a third party handling the applications we also enclosed the $45.00 administration fee??? (MONEY ORDER OF COURSE) Well after repeated phone calls and e-mails we have not heard anything and we are 2 weeks from the event. Boy, if they got a hundred other vendors to mail in money then they probably turned a nice profit! We will not be fooled like this again and certainly will avoid both this event and promoter… If you cannot respond to a future vendor in a professional manner then go find another line of work!
