Description of Event:
Festival will be held on September 14-18, 2016. The 2016 edition of the Walnut Valley Festival will feature lots of music, food, arts and craft and numerous hours of national and International acoustic instrument championship competitions. The various championship contests annually bring musicians to the small south central Kansas community from around the world to test their skills against other players who also rank among the top percentage in the world of pickers with their particular acoustic stringed instrument. Artists, crafters, and luthiers come to Walnut Valley from over 20 states... Washington to Alabama, California to Pensylvania, and lots of local favorites. Many of the more than 100 displays will be first-timers, producing drawings, paintings, jewelry, woodcrafts, glass, metalwork, baskets, pottery, weaving/spinning, leather, herbals and soaps, childrens' items, a pantry section of food-related items and much more.Information:
