The Texas Rice Festival is an annual harvest celebration held the first weekend of October. The festival was created in 1969 to honor rice farming, which is a major economic contribution in the region of Southeast Texas. It's held in the Winnie-Stowell Park in Winnie, Texas. The Rice Festival includes a carnival, two parades, livestock show, longhorn show, open horse show, BBQ cook off, nightly street dances, music and entertainers, antique car show, rice cooking contest, pageants and food, food, food.
