Description of Event:
The event is geared to generate support and funding for the establishment of the Stewart Indian School Cultural Center. The intent of the Cultural Center is to preserve the history and memorabilia of the school which closed in 1980 after 90 years of providing basic and vocational education and training for thousands of American Indian youth from Nevada, California, Arizona, New Mexico and other western states. During this event, visitors are able to experience first-hand the true history of the school by joining hundreds of alumni, American Indians and general public who come from near and far for the event which features competition American Indian dancing, arts and craft vendors, Indian Taco vendors and Stewart alumni activities.Information:
