Description of Event:
Historic German church hosts annual fundraiser featuring special-recipe handmade brats served hot off the grill, German potato salad, red cabbage, homemade desserts and beer on tap.
Live polka music and dancing provided by Ken and Mary Turbo Accordions Express. Other musical entertainment includes the Hilliard Community Band, Central Ohio Squeezebox Society, Germania Haus Kappelle, Doris the Danish Saw Player and the Columbus Maennerchor.
The Ohio Village Muffins will play the Lutheran Strikers in an 1860s-era “base ball” game at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
The event will conclude on Sunday afternoon with a traditional Worship Service in the sanctuary at 2:30 p.m. spoken and sung in the German language as it was when the church was founded by the nine original immigrant families in the mid-1800s. Hours: Friday, Aug. 3, 4-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, noon to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, noon to 4 p.m.
