Description of Event:
SalmonFest Seattle sets its roots deep in the history of Seattle summer festivals. It began as the Lake City Summer festival where the original residents of this northeastern corner of the city held local summer gatherings. Neighbors sold their quilts, jams and preserves on the sidewalk, games were staged for the kids and the crowds feasted together. But, as times changed so did the Lake City Summer Festival. It was time to present the festival in a new light, so in 1947 the festival was branded a new name, the Lake City Pioneer Days. Today much of the Pioneer spirit still lives on, deep within the roots of SalmonFest Seattle. Activities will include Salmon Bake; Pet Vendors, Pet Healthcare, Pet Clothes and the August Dogfest Contest; Best Salmon Costume; Best Seahawk Costume; Best Dog/Owner Look Alike; Juried arts and crafts; Live Entertainment; Beer Garden; Community Performance Areas; Street Dance; Vintage Car Show; Kid's Activities and much more.Information:
