Description of Event:
2015 will mark the 37th anniversary of the Mississippi Watermelon Festival held at the Mize City Park in downtown Mize, MS. Mize is located in the southwest corner of Smith County along state highways 28 and 35, amid the pines, oaks, dogwoods and magnolias (not to mention kudzu) typical of South Central Mississippi. There will be arts and crafts, food and other merchandise, The Mississippi Watermelon Festival 5K run, AND a great Car and Truck Show. Be sure to join in the fun in the watermelon eating contest and the seed spitting contest and don't miss the Biggest Watermelon contest, you'll see some real whoppers. It's a time to eat all the watermelon you can handle, compete in watermelon games, contests, great music and enjoy the warm days of summer. Hours: Fri 5pm-9pm, Sat 8am-10pmInformation:
