Description of Event:

King Richard’s Faire, New England’s largest and longest-running Renaissance Festival, opens its 2014 season on August 30th and runs eight consecutive weekends thru October 19th including Labor Day and Columbus Day Mondays. Tucked away on 80 acres of beautiful, enchanted forest off Rt. 58 in Carver, Mass., the Faire is open 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

Guests are invited to watch the King’s daring knights joust on horseback, listen to talented musicians, and enjoy a full day of live, interactive entertainment for all ages. At every turn, guests will encounter fantasy and fun on eight stages filled with song and dance, stunts and storytelling, minstrels, acrobats, jugglers, stilt walkers, giant life-size puppets, wenches, and new liger cubs. Every Saturday afternoon, the King’s Stage offers special themed contests and events to add variety to each week’s entertainment lineup.

Guests can mingle with the King and his royal court, noble and not-so-noble subjects, and talented performers. When as famished as a mud beggar, tantalize taste buds with the Faire’s delicious spit-roasted turkey legs, buttery ears of spit-roasted corn, boules filled with chowder and stew, ringlets of fries, and quench thy thirst with champagne, wine and brew.  Shoppers can stroll through the 16th century village filled with handmade wares from more than 100 unique and talented artisans, including many local New England artists.

Tickets are $29 for adults (12+) and $16 for children ages 4-11 and are available for purchase now on the Faire’s website (kingrichardsfaire.net). Children under 4 are free, and parking is free. Dates : Aug 30,31; Sept 1 (Labor Day Weekend), 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28; Oct 4, 5, 11, 12, 13(Columbus Day), 18 & 19, 2014
