Each year during the first full weekend of August this sleepy mountain hamlet is transformed into the harmonica capital of the western world. Entering its 21st year in 2010 (August 6-8), the Yellow Pine Harmonica Contest (honoring prospecting pioneers) has grown into one of the world's largest (and most fun!) harmonica events. For nineteen years, our contest and festival has provided musical enjoyment to thousands of people in our beautiful, rustic village of Yellow Pine situated in the Idaho backcountry. The Harmonica Fest is a family-oriented event with something for everyone. We are doing our best to keep overhead costs low while maintaining the high level of entertainment for musicians and audience alike. There will be food and craft vendors, raffles, drawings, auctions, harmonica lessons, and toe-tapping music! The Yellow Pine Harmonica Contest and Festival is proud to announce that the exciting changes made to our 2008 Harmonica Contest went over exceptionally well.
