Description of Event:
The community of Hallettsville has a proud history rooted in the immigrants from Germany and Czechoslovakia that began settling there in the mid 1800s. Kolache Fest is a tribute and celebration of this rich heritage. Kolache Fest has something for everyone. From the Eating Contests to the arts and crafts booths to the classic car show featuring cars from all over the area. Perhaps the highlight of the day for children young and old is the Kolache Fest Parade through Hallettsville's Downtown Square. Other activities for the children include games and activity booths. Of course, it wouldn't be a Czech festival without polka music. Throughout the day polka bands are on hand to entertain guests and delight visitors. The night is finished off with the Kolache Fest dance featuring bands that are local and regional favorites.Information:
