Description of Event:
The Gosper County Fair is held in Elwood every year generally at the end of July. The town owns its own carnival and volunteers from town work to host the fair and run the rides, games and concession stand. People come from miles around to attend this yearly event. In addition to the carnival activities, there is a free concert on Thursday night, a rodeo on Friday and Saturday nights. The American Legion hosts a food stand all day in their building, which also houses the 4H exhibits and open class exhibits such as photography, baked goods, and flower arrangements. The 4H holds their annual animal judging and exhibitions. Each year there is a parade, one year it is a full parade with bands and floats, the next year it is a childrens parade, and an annual mud volleyball tournament takes place on Saturday. The fair is located on the southewest side of town near the water tower. Come join us for some old fashioned fun.Information:
