Description of Event:
TACH presents “Global Music and Dance” in July, 2014. A four day concert will present a collaboration of Indo-American artist, an Indian Dance, Indian Classical, Jazz, Fusion, Saxophone, Flute, Harp and many more. On July 26th the organization is going to celebrate it’s “Award of Excellence” - 2014 and honor the artist Abhiman Kaushal - Tabla (Drum). op artists presenting in the July events are:
Abhiman Kaushal (Los Angeles) - He is currently on faculty at UCLA and UCR as Director of the North Indian Classical Music ensembles. He is an outstanding Tabla player. He has toured around the world performing in prestigious venues. He has numerous recordings and world music collaborations. He has recorded a soundtrack for National Geographc’s Man Eaters of North India, for Zoolander movie and has performed for MTV’s Aerosmith icon show in front of a live audience.
Adam Levy (Los Angeles), whose playing has been featured on recordings by major label artist such as Norah Jones (her first three albums), Tracey Chapman (New Beginning) and Amos Lee (Amos Lee). His solo on Norah Jones “Come Away with Me” is more understand - a simple, earnest plea echoing the sentiment of the song.
Sushmita Srikanth (India / USA), Bharatnatyam, who performed on several venues from last fourteen years and participated in many of company productions including Panchadasa Natya Samaroh.
Jimmy Robinson (New Orleans), who appeared in a concert with Bella Feck, Jeff Beck, John Fahey, Steven Stills, JOHN MCLAUGHLIN and the Mahavishnu Orchestra. According to “The Huffington Post”: “Robinson is nothing short of Brilliant….....”. Chakrapani Singh (Reno), is a passionate and sensitive Guitarist and his journeys of an individual through a whole gamut of emotions that reveals Truth, Beauty and Perfection towards MUSIC. He is truly a rare instrumentalist with an unique repertoire ranging from traditional, classical compositions on the slide guitar to his innovative, renditions on the Kachappi Veena.
