Description of Event:
This festival, celebrating the 'First Call for American Independence' made on April 22, 1776, will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both indoors and outdoors at the Cumberland Middle/High School Complex on Rt. 60, in Cumberland, Virginia. The opening ceremonies will be held on the Courthouse lawn across from the location of the historic Effingham Tavern where the First Call was made. A parade will follow the opening ceremonies leading all those in attendance from the Courthouse lawn to the Middle/High School Complex for the festivities.
