Description of Event:
Pequot Lakes is the "Official" Chokecherry Capital of Minnesota. The day starts with a bang with The Purple Elephant Run/Walk, to create awareness of violence against women and children. There's the Chokecherry Culinary Contest and a Kid's arcade area as well as a few games for the big kids, too. Back Seat Driver game is always a big hit and you have to try the Pit-Spitting Contest at least once. A Juried Arts Festival all day features artisans to satisfy the most discerning shopper. Enjoy looking at a variety of one-of-a-kind items and talented area artists. Food vendors will be available to take care of that hunger craving at any time throughout the day including the Pequot Lakes/ Breezy Point Lions Club's almost famous Shish-ka-Bobbers. The Pequot Lakes/Breezy Point Lions Club wants to celebrate the fact that this area harvests hundreds of pounds of chokecherries every year. Hours: 9am-4pmInformation:
