Description of Event:
The 17th Annual Celebrate Commemorate Memorial Day will be held May 27-29th in Waterloo, NY. The events include musical concerts, arts and craft shows, children's games and performances, a youth essay contest, strolling entertainers, delicious food concessions, 5k race, bike rally, train tours, history tours, pizza eating contest, ice cream eating contest, patriotic merchandise, and a big parade celebrating the freedom at 11 a.m. There will be encampments of both Union and Confederate reenactors presenting Living Histories of Civil War camp life including many events such as camp cooking, children's crafts, military training and drills, a Grand Review with President Lincoln, presentations by Civil War surgeons, morticians, sutlers, photographers, artillery with cannon fire, and more.Information:
