Description of Event:
Every year since 1948 the first full weekend in June brings tens of thousands of art enthusiasts to the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, adjacent to the University of Chicago campus, for the 57th Street Art Fair. Artists from throughout the country gather to exhibit their original work in a unique outdoor setting and give collectors a chance to buy their wares. Although most exhibitors are returning artists, each year the Fair invites participation by a limited number of new artists whose work has been screened by a jury of art professionals. Artists new to the Fair are asked to complete an application to submit your work for consideration. Returning artists must submit a completed application to reserve a booth space.
