Description of Event:
The Ventura County Fair began in 1875. From carnival rides to farm animals to exhibits to corn dogs, there's something for everyone. You can enter a contest, visit the farm animals, watch a free concert, go on the rides, eats lots of yummy food or do one of the hundreds of other down home fair activities. Spin, flip or fly on the great rides in the carnival midway. Sample the gourmet food and wine (or beer) pairings at the "Bounty of the County: People's Choice" contest, or snack on fair favorites like corn dogs, funnel cake or cotton candy. Wander through the inspirational gardens of the Floriculture department and check out all of the exhibits and displays throughout the fair. Enter one of the cooking contests, or a pie eating contest. Free concerts and rodeos are presented in the Grandstand Entertainment series featuring Country, Hispanic, Rock, RandB and more and of course the greatest summertime tradition: Ventura County's own fireworks over the ocean. The Ventura County Fair Livestock area houses all of the 4H Grange and FFA projects. It'll have thousands of great exhibits that are on display in Agriculture, Amateur Art, Floriculture, Gems and Minerals, Hobbies and Collections, Home Arts, Horse Shows, Large Livestock, Photography, Professional Art, Small Livestock, Uncle Leo's Barn and Youth Expo.Information:
