Preparations for the 26th Annual Franklin Parish Catfish Festival are now underway, with the event scheduled for Saturday, April 9, 2011 in historic downtown Winnsboro. The local event, which was started in a community effort to promote the catfish industry in the parish, has grown by leaps and bounds over the years, and is now known as the largest one-day festival in the state. Today, the festival covers an eight block area of downtown Winnsboro, with well over 300 vendor booth spaces available.
