The Heidi Festival and A Taste of New Glarus combine for a weekend filled with lots of fun, music, and entertainment for the whole family. Pick your pleasure—enjoy the performance of the Heidi drama, sample good ethnic food, see genuine Swiss and European ethnic entertainment, hunt for special treasures at local shops and at the Craft and Art fair in Village Park! The weekend highlight is the presentation of Johanna Spyri's classic play, Heidi. It's the heartwarming story of the young girl with braids, her gruff grandfather, and their love of the Majestic Alps of Switzerland. Four performances are staged by local actors in a warm presentation that includes live goats and kittens on stage! Spend a weekend enjoying New Glarus. Come experience the ethnic spirit and the European flavor that residents have shared for over 150 years.
